Here are the animals that came to us in need of TLC and were adopted into loving homes!

Broonzy spent his entire life in a kennel with very little human interaction. When he came to MM, he was extremely shy and suffered from a bad case of separation anxiety. Broonzy was in foster care for 7 months, but eventually found the perfect home. Broonzy’s new dad is his best friend and they spend all day every day together (Broonzy’s dream)!

Penny came to MM after being hit by a car for the second time. She was unable to walk or stand, and had severe nerve damage to one of her front legs. With time, medication, and physical therapy, she began to walk again. Penny later had her front leg amputated and now lives a happy, normal life with a doggy brother, two kitty siblings, and even a human sister of her own!

Remi came to MM after being shot. He had a fractured leg, gunshot wound, and Heartworm disease. After a few months of medical treatment, Remi became the happy, healthy boy that we all knew he could be! He was adopted out to a family that loves him with all their heart! He now has acreage to explore and get out his border collie energy.

Summit came to MM after being stepped on by a steer. He had a badly broken back leg and it was originally thought that he would need corrective surgery to have it fixed. Lucky for him, a couple months in a splint healed him right up! He now has no issues with his back leg and lives with 3 doggy siblings and a small herd of goats! His “job” is to hike around with his human and animal family each day while the goats graze new pastures.

Ozzy was found as a stray and taken to the county animal shelter. He was too young to be adopted and the best thing for him was to go into a foster home. Ozzy ended up getting adopted by his foster family!

Bridge came to MM after jumping off of an overpass and breaking his foot. Bridge was technically a Humboldt County Animal Shelter dog, but Mending Mutts cared for him through his recovery. He found a home with a wonderful couple, where he is the only dog and gets TONS of love and attention!

Clementine was taken to the county animal shelter as a stray. She was incredibly shy and shut down. The world was a very scary place, and even when out of the shelter she spent a week hiding under my coffee table. With lots of socialization, she began to gain enough confidence to get adopted. She found the perfect home where her socialization was continued. She is significantly more confident now and is even happy living in the city with all sorts of sights, smells, and commotion! She lives with her mom, older dog sister, and a cat.

Hadley was found as a tiny kitten outside of a liquor store on a busy street in Sacramento. When she came to MM she needed to be bottle fed. Once old enough, Hadley went to a great home where she is treated like the princess that she is!

Grits came to Mending Mutts because he was extremely fearful when in the animal shelter. Before getting to the shelter, he had little to no socialization with people. He was abandoned with his litter mates at a very young age, and spent most of his short life living as a stray. He blossomed in a home environment and found a loving home with a doggy brother to run laps with!

Eleven was brought into a local veterinary clinic after being attacked by something. She had a head wound and would frequently get nose bleeds. She was a tough little girl that found the perfect home where she has a wonderful mom, along with dog and cat siblings that all love her very much!

Burroughs was found as a tiny kitten in a bush outside of someones house. He was brought to MM and needed to be bottle fed for a short time. Once old enough, Burroughs was adopted to a home with a Veterinary Technician and an older brother cat that looked just like him!

Woody came to MM when he was a few weeks old. His owner was attempting to sell him and his siblings as his mom had attacked one of the puppies already. Once in foster care, Woody had to be separated from his siblings for medical reasons. He came to MM where he continued to socialize with other dogs and once old enough, was adopted into a home with a doggy sister and two human sisters.

Violet and her sister Paisley were left outside of a Petsmart taped up in a cardboard box. After coming to MM, they were quickly adopted. They now are living the life in Port Angeles, WA with their mom, dad, and dog sister!

Noel was found homeless and taken in by a local veterinary facility before coming to MM. She had a bad upper respiratory infection, but with a little medication and TLC she was soon recovered and found a wonderful home!

We got Fig and Goji when they were under 1 week old. They were abandoned by their mother and needed round the clock care. Once they were old enough, they were adopted by a wonderful family who absolutely adore them!

These three little kittens Bourbon, Avery, and Penny Lane were found living as strays. They were all semi-feral and essentially untouchable. They needed to be mended in a more emotional way. After consistent handling and socializing, all become friendly and confident cats.

Mac was pulled from the Humboldt County Animal Shelter when we were told they would be euthanizing. Mac was extremely fearful of strangers and could not go up for adoption in that environment. We took him into foster care and worked on training and confidence building to help him over come his fear of strangers. After 5 months, Mac found a home! He found a mom that is willing to exercise and work with this energetic and intelligent boy. He now can look forward to lots of beach and play time, as well as training to satisfy his mind for the rest of his days!

Birdie came to MM when she was about 5 months old. She was caught in a trap when property owners were trying to catch a skunk. We really believe she was a feral dog and had very little (if any) contact with people before being trapped. Lucky for Birdie, a foster family stepped up to show her how great life is as a house dog! Even luckier for her, they foster failed and decided to keep her in the family forever!
